Why Do We Need Screenshots?
If you are submitting a support ticket to the Moz Help Team, sending a screenshot along with your query can be incredibly helpful. This can help the team identify specific issues, and it also provides context if the issue needs to be sent to our engineering team for review.
How To Take A Screenshot
It helps a great deal to resolve potential bugs if you can take a screenshot of your whole browser window, including the search bar showing the URL of the page you are on in the tool.
Mac OS X
Press Command + Shift + 3 keys to take a fullscreen screenshot that saves on your desktop as a .png file.
Windows
- Open Snipping Tool
- Press Ctrl + PrtScn keys to capture the entire screen
- Save your snip to your desktop
Send your screenshot and a description of the process you were performing when you encountered the error to help@moz.proxybugs.com. If you’ve already submitted a ticket to the Help Team, there is no need to create a new ticket. You can submit your screenshots by replying to the ticket’s confirmation email.
Developer Tools
If you’re having trouble with the tool’s functions or you’re receiving an error message in the tool, it can also help to send a screenshot of the entire browser window with the Developer Tools console open.
